Matt Keezer on Travel in USA: Safest Destinations to Visit in the States

March 03 10:23 2021

Matt Keezer, the former CEO of Momentum Travel, gives us the low down on some safe spots to travel domestically.

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted international travel, and people all over the world are spending their vacations visiting popular destinations in their home countries. Even though there are quite a few countries with fewer positive cases than the United States, there are still some destinations in the U.S. that are safe to visit.

Matt Keezer points out that travel in the United States is possible and safe as long as travelers adhere to local restrictions and requirements. Also, it is essential to follow guidance from health experts, such as wearing a face mask, practicing social distancing, and sanitizing hands frequently.

Currently, there are a few safe destinations to visit in the USA. Matt Keezer recommends always staying up to date on the latest COVID-19 numbers as well as any local travel restrictions and requirements. Here are the destinations in the USA that offer the safest travel experience.

Hawaii

Out of all U.S. states, Hawaii boasts the lowest COVID-19 positivity rate. This state has established strict entry requirements to keep both visitors and locals safe, such as a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours before arrival. The great news is that, besides being the safest state in the U.S., Hawaii is also one of the most popular travel destinations in the world as it offers an abundance of activities to choose from.

Washington, DC

Matt Keezer believes that Washington, DC is an excellent destination for visiting for two reasons. First, the U.S. capital has handled the coronavirus crisis better than most destinations of late. Second, the state has reopened indoor dining, museums, parks, gardens, and other must-visit sites and attractions. Of course, all locations have limited capacity, and visitors must wear face masks and respect social distancing protocols. A negative COVID-19 test is required prior to arrival in Washington. If the traveler plans to stay longer than three days, they will have to test again within 3-5 days of arrival.

Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

As of late-February, Colorado has one of the lowest rates of positive COVID-19 tests of any state in the U.S. The Rocky Mountain National Park is an excellent destination to visit as it offers visitors the possibility to explore 415 square miles while practicing social distancing. The park is known for its amazing hiking trails and an array of wildlife that travelers can experience from the safety of their vehicle.

Door County, Wisconsin

Matt Keezer believes that Wisconsin is also a great destination in the U.S. because the state has one of the lowest rates of positive COVID-19 tests in the U.S. Also, there are no statewide travel restrictions. Door County is considered one of the most overlooked destinations in America, as it offers travelers 300 miles of shoreline and serenity. Visitors also have lots of interesting locations to visit, ranging from state parks to historic lighthouses
